What I love about yoga is that there is always something new to learn. Just when we think we mastered a pose, we discover a new and more complex variation of what we thought we had just mastered and we feel like beginners again! This teaches us to remain humble, accept where we are and live in the present. It is a natural tendency of the mind to dwell on past events and to contemplate the future, but yoga gives us tools to control this tendency and keep the mind happy.
I have been practicing different styles of yoga including Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Yin since 2006 and completed my first 200hrs training in hatha yoga with the British Wheel of Yoga. I consider myself a life –long student and it was not long before I enrolled onto my next training course. In 2016 I became qualified to teach yin and restorative yoga and a year later completed 260hrs training in Hatha, vinyasa and Ashtanga with Yoga Alliance accredited school.
My classes are influenced by several types of yoga I have practiced and trained in over the years. I love slow and gentle movements guided by the breath and long holds of yin yoga as much as the more dynamic yang practice. My main teaching style, though, is rooted in a breath-based Hatha.
My intention is to serve my students to the best of my ability. I believe everyone can benefit from the practice of yoga. If you have never experienced it before, don’t wait any longer.
